We built a platform connecting indigenous communities with nature stewardship projects, creating quantifiable biodiversity credits for ESG.

SCV’s is helping a client develop “Nature Assets”—quantifiable biodiversity and carbon credits—that corporations can purchase to fulfill ESG commitments. SCV built a software platform that connects indigenous communities with sustainable nature stewardship projects that deliver excellent financial and conservation outcomes.
Credits are generated through conservation and restoration projects on community lands in West Africa, ensuring that communities directly benefit from their stewardship of nature. SCV’s platform ensures end-to-end traceability, utilizes digitized Free, Prior, and Informed Consent, and employs Harvard's Davies Lab Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification to deliver measurable conservation outcomes.
Previous to the work of this team, it was difficult to obtain transparency and fair distribution for conservation projects, causing scaling issues due to fragmented legal, consent, and monitoring processes. We designed and built a robust digital platform that replaces the operational strain of managing thousands of landowners, complex payment flows, and fragmented documentation that was previously spread across spreadsheets and manual processes. The platform helps provide scientific, quantifiable metrics on the project area’s environmental health and, at the same time, full transparency into how project developers’ funds are managed up to the landowner, giving a clear, verifiable view into financial flows and impact.
Implemented a solution to obtain end-to-end traceability for funds and benefit distribution as well as FPIC & legal onboarding digitized for consent and grievance handling while working with Harvard’s Davies Lab to help visualize biodiversity measurement. We also added value for the funders by reducing both compliance and reputational risk and assuring market-ready, auditable nature asset products.
SCV incrementally built a new software platform that allowed the onboarding of indigenous communities into sustainable nature stewardship program projects that excel at community management and fund transparency. This facilitated an improvement in how these types of projects attract funders and satisfy communities.
The new platform helped our customers to achieve the following measurable positive outcomes:
We successfully migrated our reverse logistics customer from on-premises Rancher Kubernetes servers to Google Kubernetes Engine on GCP.
